Story Behind The Song (Book Spoiler Alert)
I just want to say that I am a firm believer in a song taking on meaning for each person that listens to it. And I hope that happens for you. I just want to let you know what I was thinking when I wrote it. But please don’t let that ruin what the song means for you…
So this was a little different for me. This actually came while I was writing the book. If you haven’t read the book yet, this is a major spoiler….SO TURN AWAY NOW IF YOU HAVEN’T READ IT YET!
But I was thinking of how I wanted to end the book, and it hit me that the entire thing was a battle of what I should do. Whether or not to pursue fame by becoming CodiKrome or not. When in reality, all I ever wanted was to share my words. That’s all.Â
So when I decided initially that Erick was going to be sick, I knew if there was any truth to the how it would play out…this is the way it would happen. So I wrote it.Â
I put myself in the shoes of a father that knows he is leaving his daughters behind.Â
And that’s where it came from.Â
