Mama Didn’t Raise No Quitter

👇 CRANK IT UP!!!! 👇
Lyrics
Barkeep, pour that gasoline
Strike the match like kerosene
One more shot, hell one more round
This whole damn town’s burnin’ down
Live it up tonight
Like tomorrow ain’t there
Line ’em up, that’s right
I’ll knock ’em down, I swear
We’re tearin’ a hole
In this town tonight
Drinks up, glasses high
We don’t stop, til sunrise
Maybe I outta reconsider
But Mama didn’t raise no quitter
Well the drinks are warm
But they go down quick
Tequila, salt, and a lime
Give ‘er another lick
One more shot, hell one more round
This whole damn town’s burnin’ down
Live it up tonight
Like tomorrow ain’t there
Line ’em up, that’s right
I’ll knock ’em down, I swear
We’re tearin’ a hole
In this town tonight
Drinks up, glasses high
We don’t stop, til sunrise
Maybe I outta reconsider
But Mama didn’t raise no quitter
Hell, I know I’ll pay for this tomorrow
But tonight, we drown our sorrows
Live it up tonight
Like tomorrow ain’t there
Line ’em up, that’s right
I’ll knock ’em down, I swear
We’re tearin’ a hole
In this town tonight
Drinks up, glasses high
We don’t stop, til sunrise
Maybe I outta reconsider
But Mama didn’t raise no quitter
Story Behind The Song
I just want to say that I am a firm believer in a song taking on meaning for each person that listens to it. And I hope that happens for you. I just want to let you know what I was thinking when I wrote it. But please don’t let that ruin what the song means for you…
But let’s be honest…this is what it is!
A knock ’em down party song!
That’s really all I was looking for when I wsa writing this. I go into detail in the book…
But this is the part of the CodiKrome journey where I was writing new stuff. I was pretty ocnvinced that the old stuff sonded good. But I wanted to see if I could write new songs.
This song came up when I was thinking about my old lax house days. This song would have been an absolute banger if we played it back then.
So it was kind of thinking about that.
But I also was thinking that CodiKrome needed a smash hit. Like party anthem.
I was already writing the book at this point. So I knew I wanted a “hit” and this is what came from it.
Truth be told…I was absolutely HOOKED on this song after I wrote it.
I hope you like it as much as I do!
